When a student signs up to ClassDojo and uses a mobile device, we may send timely and helpful push notifications to them. For children (meaning students under the age of 13), we ask a child to provide a parent email address before he or she can receive push notifications from ClassDojo. We will then provide the parent with notice of our collection and provide the parent the opportunity to prevent further notifications. The device identifier for these children will only be associated with other personal information once parental consent is provided. If you are a student or a parent of a child and no longer wish for these communications to be sent, either turn off the push notifications on your device directly or contact us at privacy@classdojo.com.
Please visit the FTC's FAQs on this matter here, which allows for an exception to collecting device identifiers for push notifications prior to parental consent in this circumstance.
