For School Leaders and Admins: Remove Staff Members from your School

If a staff member is no longer a part of your school's community and should no longer have access to the School Directory and School Story, School Leaders and Admins can easily remove them and transfer ownership of any classes they own to another school-approved staff member listed in your Directory. When the staff member is removed from your school, they will no longer have access to any classes listed in your Directory.

Please note: The option to transfer classes owned by a former staff member is only available on the website at this time. If you remove a staff member from your Directory using the iOS or Android app, you'll need to transfer ownership of any classes they owned from the Directory using the website

From the Web

  1. From the sidebar on the left of your account, click on “Directory”
  2. Select the “Staff” tab.
  3. Find the staff member you want to remove and click on their name or the three dots "..." to the right of their name.
  4. ChooseRemove from School”.
  5. If the staff member owns any classes, you’ll be prompted to transfer their classes. In the menu that appears:
    • Click "Choose Teacher" and select yourself or another school-approved staff member to take ownership of the classes. 
    • If you select yourself, the classes will appear in the sidebar on the left of your account under the "Classes" section. 
    • If you select another staff member, the classes will appear in their account.

From the Apps

If you remove a staff member from your Directory using the iOS or Android app, you'll need to transfer ownership of any classes they owned from the Directory using the website

  1. Open your dashboard and tap on your school’s name
  2. Select the “Directory” button at the bottom of your screen
  3. Tap the “Teachers” tab
  4. Tap the staff member’s name and select “Remove teacher”

Please Note: 

  • When a staff member is removed from your school, their access to any classes listed in your School's Directory will be removed.
  • Only school-approved School Leaders or Admin users can remove staff members and transfer their classes.
