We understand how important it is to communicate with your child's teacher. To ensure translations happen seamlessly between you and the teacher, please update your settings to match your language preferences. Learn how to update your language settings using the web, iOS, or Android device below.
From the Web
Here's how to change your account's language using the ClassDojo website:
- Click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen when you are logged into your parent account and select “Account Settings.”
- Under "Language preference," select your desired languages. "Language preference" controls the ClassDojo application itself and has a limited set of options. "Translation language preference" sets one of 132 languages as the default for the "see translation" button in story posts and messages. This also sets your default language for the content you send; we will no longer detect the language of a message but rather use this setting. If you do not select a translation language, it will default to English and teachers may not have the option to translate message you send in another language.
- Click the blue "Save changes" button
iOS
If you're using the iPhone app, you can now set a different language for each of the following:
- App - sets the language for the iOS app itself, configured in your iPhone settings
- Content - sets one of 132 languages as the default for the "see translation" button in story posts and messages. This also sets your default language for the content you send; we will no longer detect the language of a message but rather use this setting.
- Communications - sets the language for push and email notifications sent to you outside the app
Here's how to adjust your language settings:
1. Tap on your profile icon in the upper left corner of the screen and tap the gear icon beside your account
2. Tap on the language setting you'd like to change. Selecting "App language" will direct you out of the app into your iPhone Settings
