How District Leaders Can Enable or Disable “Needs Work” Skills Districtwide

District Leaders in partner districts can enable or disable the ability for teachers to award “Needs Work” skills across all schools in their district.

What’s This Setting?

As a District Leader in a ClassDojo partner district, you have access to a toggle that lets you manage “Needs Work” skills for all connected schools in your district.

  • When enabled, teachers across the district can give students “Needs Work” skills (just like positive skills).

  • When disabled, teachers won't be able to award these skills.

This setting applies districtwide, so any change you make will instantly affect every school and every teacher in your district.

How Do I Toggle the Setting?

  1. Log in to your District Leader account at classdojo.com.

  2. From your dashboard, head to District Settings.

  3. Find the "Needs Work Skills" toggle.

  4. Flip it on to allow “Needs Work” skills—off to disable them districtwide.

Once you make the change, it’s live—no save button needed.

What Happens When It’s Turned Off?

If you turn off “Needs Work” skills:

  • Teachers will no longer see the option to award these skills.

  • Existing “Needs Work” points won’t disappear; they just can’t be added until the setting is turned back on.

Teachers will still be able to award Positive skills like always ✨

Who Can Use This?

Only District Leaders in partner districts have access to this setting. To learn more about becoming a ClassDojo Partner district, book a call here
