End of Year Preparation FAQ

What happens to my classes at the end of the year?

Your classes will remain on ClassDojo, with your students enrolled. You will be able to continue to post, message, and distribute points just as if they are an active class. However, your district will also be sending out instructions on how to archive your classes. If you take no action, your current classes and students will remain active over the summer, and parents will still be able to message you.

Am I still able to use ClassDojo?

Yes! You can still create new classes, communicate with your current students, and make other manual changes at your school. However, the school will not be syncing over the summer, and you will not be able to add students who don’t already belong at the school.

When should I expect to see changes for next year on ClassDojo?

We encourage you to avoid setting up new classes manually for next school year. Student data and classes will be automatically updated just before the school year begins. Furthermore, the classes that you do not manually archive from the previous school year will be automatically archived when the new school year begins.

On top of new data syncing in ClassDojo at the beginning of next school year, there will also be a notice in the platform to inform you of when your classes will plan to begin syncing. As a reminder, at the beginning of the school year, class schedules are still being processed in the SIS, and we encourage you to wait for changes in your SIS to be reflected in ClassDojo.
