In this guide, we'll help you troubleshoot common issues and get everyone connected in no time. Let's dive in and make your ClassDojo experience seamless and joyful!
If a family reports that their Parent Code isn’t working, here are a few things to consider:
Expiration
Parent Codes expire 30 days after they are created. If a family tries to use an expired code, they will receive an error message instead. To generate a new code, you can download the individual codes for your class. Otherwise, you can send the family a direct invite to join your class via email or sms.
Redemption Limits
Each Parent Code can only be redeemed four times. If a code has already reached this limit, it will generate an error message. If the family was invited via email or sms, you can cancel their invite and resend it, which will generate a new code. Here’s how to cancel an invitation:
- Log into your account on the website
- Select your class
- Click the Options menu in the top right corner and select “Invite Families”
- Click on the student’s name
- Under the “Parents” heading, locate the invite and click the down arrow
- Click “Cancel invitation” and confirm
Otherwise, submit a request form here with the name of your class and the name of the student, and we can reset the code on our end.
Connection Limits
Each student can have up to four family members connected to their student profile. If a fifth family member tries to redeem a code, and the student already has four family connections, the fifth will receive an error message instead.
If you continue to face issues with Parent Codes, please submit a request form here with the name of your class, the name of the student, and the email address of the family. We’d be happy to take a closer look.
