Student Data Privacy Addendum (DPA)

ClassDojo offers a Student Data Protection Addendum, which is an agreement we enter into with schools or districts that further describes our duties, responsibilities, and commitments with respect to Student Data that we collect or receive. Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC)

✦ SDPC National Student Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA)

For districts that are members of a State Alliance in the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC), please send your State Alliance’s National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) to privacy@classdojo.com.  ClassDojo will review any Exhibit G changes (if provided) and then provide ClassDojo’s Exhibit H as well as Exhibit A (Services), Exhibit B (Schedule of Data), and Exhibit D (Directive for Disposition of Data).   


ClassDojo has already executed a state NDPA along with an Exhibit E in the states listed below. Districts only need to countersign Exhibit E (linked) to become a party to the agreement. Any questions can be sent to privacy@classdojo.com. 

Here are instructions for signing Exhibit E provided by the Student Data Privacy Consortium. 

Arizona: NDPA signed with Originating District: Mesa Unified School District #4. View ClassDojo's signed agreement and join via countersigning Exhibit E on the Student Data Privacy Consortium's website under AZ's state alliance.

Arkansas: NDPA signed with Originating District Rose Bud School District 35. View ClassDojo's signed agreement and join via countersigning Exhibit E on the Student Data Privacy Consortium's website under AR's state alliance.

California: CA DPA signed via CITE with Originating District: San Juan Unified School District. California districts can view ClassDojo's signed agreement on the SDPC website and join as a Subscribing District via countersigning Exhibit E through the SDPC or reaching out to CITE directly. 

Florida: NDPA signed with Originating District: Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Florida districts can view ClassDojo's signed agreement and join as a Subscribing District via countersigning Exhibit E.

Illinois: IL NDPA signed with Originating District Peoria County Regional Office of Education ROE 48. You can view ClassDojo’s signed IL NDPA here and join via countersigning Exhibit E on the Student Data Privacy Consortium's website under IL's state alliance.

Ohio: NDPA signed with Originating District: Oregon City Schools. View ClassDojo's signed agreement here and join via digitally signing Exhibit E.

Wisconsin: NDPA signed with Originating District: School District of Arcadia. We are supporting them with uploading their DPA to the SDPC. Until then, you can view the signed agreement here. If you'd like to become a Subscribing District, please submit your signed Exhibit E to the SDPC and to privacy@classdojo.com.

 

Currently Under Review:

  • Missouri: MO NDPA is currently under review with Originating District Mexico School District 59.
  • Tennessee: TN NDPA is currently under review with Originating District Rutherford County.

Prior to the release of the NDPA, ClassDojo also signed SDPC DPAs with the following states along with an Exhibit E that are still in effect.  Districts only need to countersign Exhibit E (linked) to become a party to the agreement. Any questions can be sent to privacy@classdojo.com.

Districts Not Affiliated With The SDPC:

For the following states we also have a state-specific DPA:

  • Connecticut: Please see ClassDojo’s Connecticut Student Data Protection Addendum on the Learn Platform. If you are not a member of Learn Platform, reach out to privacy@classdojo.com to receive a link to digitally sign the CT-specific DPA.   

  • New York: ClassDojo offers a NY State-specific data sharing agreement that we enter into with NY districts that specifically addresses NY Section 2-D requirements; more details here: ClassDojo & New York State Education Law Section 2-d. Here is a PDF copy of the DPA, and here is a document with the details of how we've incorporated NY-specific compliance into the DPA. Please do not download and sign this PDF. Instead, the authorized signatory for the district can e-sign a digital copy at this link. At the link, you will see that you can enter the district and contact details into the NY Parent's Bill of Rights we offer in the agreement, which is provided by the New York State Education Department. International Schools outside of the US:

To receive ClassDojo's International Student Data Privacy Addendum ("Int. DPA"), please send an email to privacy@classdojo.com. The Int. DPA you receive will depend on the jurisdiction you reside in. More information is available here, including on the transfer mechanism used by ClassDojo when transferring personal data between the European Economic Area (“EEA”), the United Kingdom (“UK”), or Switzerland and the United States.
