How to Send a Group Message

Effective communication is key to a successful classroom community, and ClassDojo makes it easy to send group messages among teachers and families. Whether you need to share important updates, coordinate pick-up time, or foster collaboration, group messaging ensures everyone stays informed and connected. With just a few simple steps, you can send group messages to keep the lines of communication open and support a cohesive and engaged classroom environment. Follow these instructions to learn how to send group messages on ClassDojo!

Please note: 

  • Once a group message is created, you can leave a group message, add a new member to a group message, and remove someone from a group message. To do this, open the group message thread and click on the profile icons in the upper right-hand corner. From here, you can...
    • Add a new member to the group by clicking on the "Add" button.
    • Leave the group message by clicking the "More" button and selecting "Leave group.
    • Remove someone from the group message by clicking on the three-dot menu next to their name and clicking "Remove from Group."

From the Web

  1. Open your class
  2. Click on the “Messages” tab
  3. Click on the compose icon in the left corner next to "Messages"
  4. Click "New group"
  5. Select which teachers and/or families you would like to include in your group message and then click the blue "Create" button
  6. Compose your message to the group and click "Send"

From the App 

  1. Open your class
  2. Tap on the “Messages” tab
  3. Tap on the compose icon in the upper right corner 
  4. Select which teachers and/or parents you would like to include in your group message and then click the blue "Create" button
  5. Compose your message to the group and tap on the send icon 🎉
