Creating a Class Chat for families in your classroom on ClassDojo is a fantastic way to foster community and enhance communication. Please Note:
- If you are not able to turn Class Chat on, your School Leader or admin may have disabled it at the schoolwide level. Please reach out to them to ask about enabling this feature for your school.
- This article walks through the steps for enabling or disabling Class Chats at the class-level. School Leaders and Admins can enable or disable Class Chats for the entire school from the School Settings. For more information on that, please see this article.
💡 Tip: You can also remove individual parents from Class chat instead of turning it off completely.
From the Web
Here’s how to turn Class Chat on and off from the web:
- Open your class
- Click on the Options menu in the top right, and click “Edit Class”
- Click on the “Settings” tab and switch on “Class chat"
- Visit your class’s Messages tab to see the Class chat with all of your class families automatically added
- If you wish to turn off Class Chat, visit the same class settings and turn Class Chat off
From the App
Here’s how to turn Class Chat on and off from the app:
- Open your class and tap on the three dots in the top right to open class settings
- Tap on Chat settings
- Turn on Class chat
- Visit your class’s Messages tab to see the Class chat with all of your class families automatically added
- If you wish to turn off Class Chat, visit class settings and turn Class Chat off 🎉
