Going to be away from your messages for a bit? Set up an away message to let families know when you may be unavailable to respond. Away messages are displayed in all family message threads, helping set expectations while keeping communication open. 😎
Here's how to set this up:
From the website
- Click your profile icon or initials in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Account Settings.
- Navigate to the Chats section.
- Turn on the Away message toggle.
- Enter the message you would like families to see in the text box.
- Close or navigate away from the Account Settings screen. Your away message is saved automatically. There is no save button required. 🎉
From the app
- Tap on your initials or profile picture in the top left corner of the screen.
- Tap the gear icon (⚙️) to open your Account Settings.
- Tap Chats.
- Turn on the Away message toggle.
- Enter the message you would like families to see in the text box.
- Tap the button to leave this screen. Your away message is saved automatically. There is no save button required. 🎉
How Away Messages Work
Once enabled, your away message will appear at the top of every message thread with families.
Families can still send messages while your away message is active. The away message does not prevent or restrict messaging.
If you don't want to receive push notifications for new messages, you can also set your Quiet Hours. 🤫
