Adding a Second Parent Connection to a Student

Connecting a second parent or guardian to a student's ClassDojo account is simple and convenient! There are two easy ways to add a second parent connection, ensuring that both parents can stay informed and engaged in their child's education. Whether you prefer using email invitations or unique parent codes, ClassDojo makes it straightforward to keep everyone connected. Follow these steps to learn how to add a second parent connection to a student on ClassDojo and keep your classroom community strong and informed!

Please Note: Connecting multiple parents gives each parent a unique account.  Parent accounts are not connected, and all individual non-group messages between you and the parent account holder are private. 

From the Web

Here are the two ways to invite another parent or guardian from the web:

A. Send an invite by email

  1. Open your class.
  2. Click on "Family Connections".

  3. Scroll down to find the student for whom you'd like to add an additional family connection.  Click on the student's name.

  4. Click on the "Connect another parent" link.

  5. Enter the parent's email or phone number and click on "Invite".

B. Print a parent code

  1. Follow the directions for printing parent codes.
  2. Give the same code to each parent.
  3. Tell each parent to follow the directions on the sheet to create two different accounts using the same code.

From the App

Here are the two ways to invite another parent or guardian from the app:

A. Send an invite by email or text

  1. Open your class.
  2. Tap on the 3 dot button in the top right corner of your class screen and select “Invite families”.

  3. Scroll down and find the student to who you'd like to add an additional family member connection.

  4. Tap on "Invite additional parent".

  5. Enter their email or phone number and tap "Invite".

B. Print a parent code

  1. Follow the directions for printing parent codes.
  2. Give the same code to each of the student’s parents.

  3. Tell each parent to follow the directions on the sheet to create two different accounts using the same code.
