Share Your Class with Another Staff Member

Whether you're co-teaching, working with a specialist, or teaming up for extra support, sharing your class on ClassDojo makes collaboration easy! Once connected to your class, co-teachers can manage student points, communicate with families, and more.

We've recently made a change to make sharing classes easier! Now, if you, your colleague, and your class are all connected to the same school, your colleague will automatically be connected to your class after they've been invited!

 

✅ Before You Invite

To successfully share your class:

  • You must be the class owner.
    • If you are a co-teacher in the class, you cannot invite other staff members to join the class.
    • School Leaders and ClassDojo Admins can add staff members to classes in their school following these steps.
  • Both you and your colleague must have verified email addresses.
  • Your colleague must accept the invitation to join your class on the website. 
  • Make sure you're inviting the email address your colleague used for their ClassDojo account. 
  • Ensure that your colleague's account is school-approved.

How to share your class 

From the Web

Here's how to share your class from the website:

  1. Log in to your account here
  2. Open your class and click “Options” (top right)
  3. Select “Add co-teachers”
  4. Enter your colleague’s email, or choose their name from the list of school-approved teachers
  5. Click “Invite”

Once invited to your class, your colleague will get an email invitation. They can log into their account on the website and click on the "Accept" button in their account to join your class. 

From the App (iOS and Android)

Here's how to share your class from the app:

  1. Open the ClassDojo app, then open your class
  2. Tap the three dots (top right corner)
  3. Tap “Add co-teachers”, then tap the “Add co-teachers” button
  4. Select your co-teacher from the school-approved staff member list or tap "Invite co-teacher to your class" at the bottom of the menu to type in your colleague's email address.
  5. Tap “Add” (top right)

Staff members connected to your class will be able to:

  • Give points under their name, view student reports, reset point bubbles, use ClassDojo Messaging with all connected parents, and add, edit, or delete students.

Staff members connected to your class will NOT be able to:

  • Send ClassDojo Messages under your name or connect other teachers to your class

Please Note:  Any changes made to a shared class will affect all users. For example, if one co-teacher resets the point bubbles, it will reset the bubbles for all users.

💡 Troubleshooting Tips

If your colleague didn’t get the invite:

  • If you're seeing “Connection Pending”, they should see a button on their ClassDojo dashboard. 
  • If you're seeing “Invitation Sent”, the email entered doesn’t match a ClassDojo account—so they’ll receive an invite to create an account instead.
