How to Hatch Student Eggs

Every student begins their ClassDojo journey with a surprise—an egg! 🐣 Once a student logs into their account for the first time, their egg hatches into their very own Monster avatar.

🧑‍💻 When Do Eggs Hatch?

• Automatically after 4 weeks if the student hasn’t logged in
• Immediately after a student logs into their account

Want to help your students hatch their avatars faster? You can check the hatch date or manually hatch them from the web version of ClassDojo.

Note: You’ll need to use a web browser - this feature isn’t available in the app.

🔍 Check the Hatch Date (Web Only)

1. Open your class at classdojo.com
2. Click “Options” (top right) > “Edit Class”
3. Select the “Settings” tab
4. Look under “Monster eggs” to see the exact hatch date

🐣 Manually Hatch Student Eggs (Web Only)

Don’t want to wait 4 weeks? You can hatch eggs yourself with just a few clicks:

1. Open your class at classdojo.com
2. Click “Options” > “Edit Class” > “Students”
3. Click on a student’s name
4. In the pop-up, click “Hatch egg” under their avatar
5. Click “Save”
6. Repeat for any other students who need a hatched avatar
