For Students: How to Manage Browser Notifications

Don't miss a message from a teacher or family member! 🔔

To receive notifications in your browser, two settings need to be turned on:

  1. Notifications in your ClassDojo Account Settings
  2. Notification permissions in your web browser

This article walks you through the browser settings. If your browser is blocking notifications, follow the steps below for the browser you're using.

Google Chrome

Common on school Chromebooks

  1. Click the site information icon just to the left of the web address. If you see a switch for Notifications, turn it on. If not, find the link to Site settings.

  2. Click Site settings.
  3. Scroll to Permissions and find Notifications.
  4. Click the dropdown next to Notifications and select Allow.
  5. Refresh the ClassDojo page.

Your browser should now allow notifications from ClassDojo.

Using a school Chromebook?
If you don't see these options, your school may manage browser settings for you. Please contact your teacher or your school's technology team for help.

Still Need Help?

If notifications still aren't working:

  • Check your System Settings to see if Notifications are disabled or if you have "Do not disturb" turned on.
  • Make sure Notifications are turned on in your ClassDojo Account Settings.
  • Refresh your browser after changing your settings.
  • If you're using a school-managed device, your school may control notification permissions.
  • If you're still having trouble, contact your teacher, a family member, or ClassDojo Support for help.
