I Received an Email About a Sign-In from a New Device

To keep your account safe, you’ll receive an email notification whenever a new device or browser is used to sign in to your account.

This measure ensures you’re aware of all account activity and can quickly identify and take action on any unauthorized access. If you recognize the login details such as time, device, and location listed in the email, no action is needed. If you don't recognize the login attempt, please reset your password here: Reset Password. This will also terminate any active sessions on your account. We also recommend enabling two-step verification.

I recently signed in, but I didn't use a new device

When you sign in, we create something called a "device login ID" to help recognize your device. On mobile apps, this is simple because each device only has one version of the app. However, on web browsers, we use something called a cookie to make the ID unique. This means that different browsers (like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) will all appear as different devices.

Please note: If cookies are turned off or get cleared/deleted, we can’t recognize your device the next time you log in, so we create a new ID. This could result in a new device email. For example, if you use a private or incognito browser, it always creates a new ID, which is why you will get an extra email about your login.

I recently signed in, but the location listed in the email is wrong

The location we provide is an estimate and may not reflect your exact location. This is especially common when using devices such as smartphones or tablets. Several factors, such as the registered location of your IP address, the use of proxies or VPNs, browser location settings, WiFi network, and cellular network connections, can affect the accuracy of the listed location.

I receive this email each time I sign in on the web

If you're signing into ClassDojo on a familiar device or browser, it's possible that your web browser isn't saving cookies. To ensure a smooth login experience, please check that you're not using a private or incognito browsing mode. Additionally, make sure your browser is set to allow web cookies for ClassDojo.
