We’re so excited to introduce our new school points feature! The positive feedback platform kids love, aligned with PBIS or your school values, is now ready for the whole school. In this FAQ guide, we'll answer all your questions.
Q. Why does my school not have access to school points?
A. In order for any staff members to give school points, a School Leader or Admin must first set up at least one school skill.
Q. Who can give school points?
A. Any verified School Leader, Teacher, or Staff member can award points in the school points dashboard.
Q. Who can create, edit, and delete school skills?
A. Verified School Leaders and Admins can create, edit, or delete school skills. All school skills will also be added to the classes within the school.
Q. What happens when a schoolwide point skill is created?
A. School skills are automatically added to all existing and new classes in your school. Teachers can still have skills unique to their class, too. School skills can also be given from the school point dashboard when students are outside of class.
Q. Where do points awarded from the school points dashboard go?
A. Points awarded from the school point dashboard are added to an 'outside of class' tally for a student, but are not added to that student's point bubble in their class. The point total you see in the school point dashboard is a combination of a student's class points and outside-of-class points.
Q. What devices can be used for school points?
A. School points can be awarded on the ClassDojo website and the app.
Q. Why is the student’s point total in their class different from their point total in the school points dashboard?
A. All class points and outside-of-class points will be included in the school points dashboard. However, points awarded in the school points dashboard will not be included in the student’s point total in their class or in their class report. This would explain a difference in the point totals.
Q. Does a student have to be in an active class to receive school points?
A. No, as long as the student is listed in the Directory and has not been graduated, they can receive school points.
Q. Can school points be redeemed?
A. Yes, School Leaders and Admins can redeem school points. You can see helpful info on this here.
Q. Can school points be reset?
A. Yes, School Leaders and Admins can reset the redeemable school balances for the entire school. You can see helpful info on this here.
Q. Can I exclude class skill data from the dashboard?
A. Yes, school leaders and admins can hide class skills from the school data in the dashboard settings.
Q. Can I add a note to a school point?
A. Not at this time.
Q. Are points given in the school point dashboard included in a student’s class report?
A. Not at this time.
Q. Is there a way to download school point data?
A. Yes, school leaders and admins can download a CSV file for their preferred date range while in the dashboard.
Q. Can School Leaders toggle off the school point feature?
A. To disable school points, a School Leader or Admin can delete the point skills from the school point dashboard.
Q. Can house points be awarded in the school point dashboard?
A. We don't yet have a way to aggregate house points. All points are aggregated by class.
Q: Can I exclude neutral skills from the percentage in the school points dashboard?
A: Yes! You can exclude neutral skills from the percentage under "Point settings".
