Classroom Rewards for Dojo Islands

The points you give in class can now unlock a little extra magic! With Classroom Rewards, the positive points students earn in your classroom also help them unlock fun building blocks and island decorations to use in Dojo Islands at home. It's a simple way for the encouragement you give in class to keep celebrating students after the school day ends — with no extra work for you!

What are Classroom Rewards?

Dojo Islands Rewards connect the positive points you already give in class to Dojo Islands at home. As students earn points, they make progress along a monthly rewards track. Each time they reach a milestone on the track, they unlock a small bundle of building blocks or island decorations they can use to build and create in Dojo Islands at home. 🏝️

You don't need to set anything up or change how you teach — just keep awarding points the way you always have.

How do students make progress?

Each positive point a student earns counts toward their progress on the rewards track. A few things to know:

  • Milestones on the track unlock one after another, and the first rewards come quickly — students will feel the excitement right away.
  • Up to 5 points per day count toward reward progress. After that, students will see that today's progress is complete. This keeps progress steady and gives every student a fair shot at the same rewards, no matter their class or teacher.
  • The rewards track refreshes at the start of each month, so there's always something new to look forward to.
  • Every so often, a point may also include a small bonus block as a fun surprise!

What can students earn?

All of the rewards are collectible building blocks and island decorations that students can use to build in Dojo Islands at home — think colorful blocks, terrain like grass and sand, and fun decorations to personalize their island. A fresh set of rewards arrives each month.

Where can students use their rewards?

Rewards can only be used in Dojo Islands at home — the version of Dojo Islands that students play outside of school, with access controlled by their parents. Rewards are not part of your class island, so nothing changes about how your class plays Dojo Islands at school.

What will my class see when I give points?

When you award a point, you'll see a small progress update along with it — and when a student reaches a milestone, a short celebration moment appears. Many teachers project their class screen, so this can become a fun shared moment for the whole class! When you award points to the whole class or a group at once, you'll see a simple summary of how many students made progress instead.

Do my students need ClassDojo accounts to earn rewards?

No! Every student earns rewards when you give points, whether or not they've logged into ClassDojo. Rewards simply wait for them — they stay pending and keep accumulating until the student logs in and visits Dojo Islands at home, where they can claim everything they've earned. Nothing is ever lost, so there's no pressure for students or families to log in right away.

Is this the same as Redeem Points?

No — Dojo Islands Rewards are completely separate from the Redeem Points feature. Redeem Points is your own classroom reward system, where you exchange points in a student's bubble for prizes or privileges you choose.

Dojo Islands Rewards don't spend or subtract any points. Students' point bubbles, reports, and your redeeming routine all work exactly as before — and redeeming or resetting points never takes away rewards a student has already earned. You can happily use both together!

Is this fair for every student?

Yes! Every student progresses along the same rewards track and can earn the same rewards, just by earning positive points in class. The daily cap keeps progress even across classrooms, and there is nothing to buy — rewards can't be purchased, and no subscription is needed.

Are students being marketed to?

No. Just like the rest of the classroom experience, there is no monetization attached to Dojo Islands Rewards. All students earn the same rewards the same way — through the points you give — and students will never see purchase prompts in the classroom version of Dojo Islands.

Can I turn this off for my class?

Yes — Dojo Islands Rewards are on by default, but you're always in control. To turn them off:

  1. Log into your account via the website
  2. Open your class and click on "Options" in the upper right corner
  3. Click on "Edit Class" and tap on the "Settings" tab
  4. Locate the Dojo Islands heading and turn off the "Enable classroom rewards" toggle

You can turn rewards back on at any time from the same place.
