Send a Photo or File via ClassDojo Chats

Sharing photos and files with families is a great way to enhance communication and keep everyone informed. ClassDojo's Chat feature makes it simple to send photos and files, allowing you to share important documents, event pictures, and more. This functionality ensures that your messages are more engaging and informative. Follow these steps to learn how to send a photo or file via Chats on ClassDojo!

From the Web

You can send a photo or file (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Text, and CSV) to families in your class via messages on the ClassDojo website. 

  1. Open your class
  2. Click on the "Chats" tab 
  3. Select the family member(s) name from your list to create a message 
    (Note: You can create a private, group, or mass message at this point)
  4. Click on the paper clip or picture icon in the lower right corner of the compose message box
  5. Click the picture gallery icon to upload a media file. Click the paperclip icon to upload a file attachment. Clicking the wrong icon may prevent you from selecting your upload
  6. Click "Upload" to insert the file into the message box.
  7. Select "Send" to send the picture or file to parents immediately or find out how to schedule when the file will be sent here

From the App

You can send a photo to families in your class via message on the iOS app. At this time, files can only be sent through the ClassDojo website.

  1. Open your class
  2. Tap the Chat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen 
  3. Select the family member(s) you would like to message. (Note: You can create a private, group, or mass message at this point)
  4. Tap the camera icon to take a photo, tap the pictures icon to select up to 10 images from your camera roll, or tap the paper clip to select a file to attach
  5. Write any accompanying message, if desired, then tap the send icon 

Please Note: You'll be prompted to allow ClassDojo access to your camera and camera roll; tap "OK" to consent.  Tapping "Don't Allow" will prevent you from sending photo messages. You'll also need to allow access to your photos if you'd like to use images from your camera roll.
