Plus: How do Read Statuses and Urgent Messages work for Plus Subscribers?

Families want to be sure their most important messages get to teachers. With the optional ClassDojo Plus subscription, families have access to Read Statuses and Urgent Messages! 

Viewing Read Statuses on your ClassDojo Plus account:

When you subscribe to ClassDojo Plus, you can gain access to read statuses. App users will see “read recently” next to the message. Website users will see the time the message was read.

Please Note:

  • If the teacher has their Quiet Hours set, you will only be able to see the Read Status once the Quiet Hours have ended.
  • Teachers have the ability to turn off Read Statuses for their account.

Sending Urgent Messages on your ClassDojo Plus account:

When you subscribe to ClassDojo Plus, you will have the ability to mark messages as urgent if needed.

Please note:

  • If the message is extremely urgent, please call the school.
  • Teachers will not be alerted of an Urgent Message if the Teacher has Quiet Hours set in their account.

FAQs

How do I know if my student’s teacher has Quiet Hours set?

When you send a message to your student’s teacher and see a banner at the top of the screen that reads, “[Teacher’s name] is away and may not reply until later :)” this informs you that the Teacher currently has their Quiet Hours on.

How do I know if my student’s teacher disabled Read Statues? 

In your message thread with the teacher, you will see “Read Statuses unavailable” next to the teacher’s name at the top of the thread if the teacher has turned off Read Statuses.

Can my student’s teacher disable Urgent Messaging?

Teachers cannot turn off the ability for you to mark messages as urgent. However, teachers will not be alerted of an Urgent Message if they have Quiet Hours set on their account.
