ClassDojo Admin permissions allow trusted teachers and school staff members to keep their school's information up-to-date and secure. With Admin permissions, teachers and school staff members can help manage students, staff, and classes in your Directory and moderate the School Story feed. This helps keep school information organized, accurate, and running smoothly.
School Leaders (like principals, assistant principals, and other school administrators) automatically have Admin permissions, and they can grant these permissions to any approved staff member listed in their school's Directory.
You can learn more about what staff members with Admin permissions can do below.
Admins are able to:
- Approve and decline staff requests to join the School
- Manage their School Directory, including:
- Removing former teacher and school staff accounts from the school, granting or removing Admin permissions from teacher or school staff accounts, and inviting staff members to join the school.
- Removing students from the Directory
- Graduating students from the Directory
- Archiving and unarchiving classes, adding co-teachers to classes, and transferring ownership of a class from one teacher to another
- Moderate the School Story by deleting School Story posts and enabling or disabling School Story commenting
- Send Schoolwide Announcements to all families and staff members connected to your school
- Enable or disable Class Chats for all classes in the Directory
- Manage School Points by adding, editing, and deleting School Point Skills as well as including or excluding neutral points from school point reporting.
- Change all student avatars from monster avatars to initial avatars in the School Settings
Changing schools
If you have Admin permissions and you change schools, you will lose your Admin permissions and will need to be granted access to your new school.
My school doesn’t have an Admin
We want to set schools up for success and are happy to help get Admin permissions added to a teacher or school staff account to help set up their school! If your school does not have a School Leader or a staff member with Admin permissions, and you know that your Principal would like to designate you to have these permissions, please submit a request form here.
